First year

Entry to the first year is by competitive entrance examination.

First-year entrance examination
Application deadline Thursday, March 14, 2024 via the platform Parcoursup or by special dispensation* depending on your situation
Online written test Thursday, May 2 and Friday, May 3, 2024
Oral test by videoconference May 13 to 17, 2024

You are in one of the following situations:

  • enrolled in your final year of high school for the 2023-2024 school year
  • holder of a baccalauréat
  • holder of a diploma of access to university studies
  • holder of an equivalent foreign diploma

Registration for the 1st-year competitive entrance exam is now made directly via the ParcourSup platform, according to the national calendar.

Only candidates who do not have the baccalauréat will be able to register directly with the school by completing un dossier de demande de dérogation. If you are then authorized to apply, you will sit the entrance exam in the same way as other candidates.

All practical information concerning the competitive entrance examination will then be detailed on the invitation you will receive at a later date.

Entrance exam :

  • a practical plastic arts test
  • a written test designed to assess the candidate’s general knowledge and command of the French language
  • an interview with a jury from the chosen site: the purpose of the interview is to assess the candidate’s background and motivation.

Terms and conditions

Candidates wishing to enter during the course of their studies must submit an artistic and pedagogical dossier to the school. The application includes a detailed description of the courses taken, elements of artistic practice and, where applicable, previous professional activities. All the information requested is detailed in the application form.

Tuition fees

Tuition fees at ÉSAD Pyrénées for the 2023-2024 academic year are 550 euros for scholarship students (subject to presentation of scholarship notification) and 590 euros for non-scholarship students.

International students / Erasmus exchanges

International students can enter ESAD Pyrénées in 1st year or later in the course of the program of study.
Most of the teaching is delivered in French. A certificate attesting a B2 level in French (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) is required.

International students can join ÉSAD Pyrénées in the 1st year or later in the course of the study program.
Most teaching takes place in French. A French test corresponding to level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is required.
