The national portal etudiants.gouv.fr informs you of all assistance, procedures, competitions and calls for projects for students.
Some towns and départements also offer assistance to students. Contact your home town or department for details.

You can also use the online platform Mes services to manage your applications for grants and accommodation from CROUS (Centres régionaux des œuvres universitaires et scolaires).

Preventive medicine

Students at ÉSAD Pyrénées benefit from the preventive medicine services of the Université de Pau Pays de l’Adour (UPPA): doctors, psychologists, nurses, social workers, dietician, sophrologist….

Social security

Are you starting or continuing your studies in higher education? In most cases, you don’t need to take any further steps. Find all the information you need on social security at ameli.fr.

Foreign students: register at website dedicated to foreign students, so that you can be affiliated and have your healthcare costs covered as soon as you arrive in France.

Chèque d’accompagnement psychologique” (CAP)

renamed the “Santé Psy Étudiants” scheme, gives students affected by the crisis access to free psychological support sessions. All students are eligible for this aid, which enables them to consult a psychologist, psychotherapist or psychiatrist.

• How do I apply for a student psychology voucher?

In order to benefit from this scheme, you must first go through your general practitioner or university health service (SSU). This initial check-up enables us to identify the best psychological support for your situation. The doctor will then give you a prescription for treatment to enable you to access sessions with a psychologist.

You can go to any doctor, but not just any psychologist… who must be
be a partner in the “Santé Psy Étudiants” scheme. To find out which psychologists are partners, visit the website santepsy.etudiants.gouv.fr. Launched on March 10, 2021, the site not only explains the principles of the scheme, but also lists the thousands of psychologists throughout France who have volunteered to take part in the sessions.

• What is the budget? How many sessions?

The package consists of 3 consultations lasting 45 minutes, with no advance payment to avoid cutting into students’ budgets.
This package can be renewed once, for a total of 6 possible sessions - in which case you’ll have to go back to the doctor.
You can make an appointment - by videoconference or in the office - with a psychologist near you, without paying a cent. Sessions are billed at 30 euros per session (below the usual rate, which is often around 50 to 60 euros).

ÉSAD Pyrénées does not have a canteen, but offers students a cafeteria on each of its sites, equipped with microwaves and vending machines for drinks and snacks.
