P.U.M.P.: A cross-border cooperation project focused on marble and local resources, co-financed by European ERDF-POCTEFA funds.
ÉSAD Pyrénées is participating in the P.U.M.P. project—the Unified Platform for Pyrenean Marble—in collaboration with the Atelier des Marbres d’Ilhet (lead partner), Marelha, the Terrassa Institute, the University of Zaragoza, and the Ocre association.
As part of this project, Jeanne Tzaut, a sculpture instructor, and Jean-Marie Blanchet, a painting instructor, will organize a workshop inviting second-year art students to undertake a research and creative project centered on marble. Using the Atelier des Marbres as a base, the workshop will explore the material, geographical, architectural, and territorial dimensions of these materials, in collaboration with the local stakeholders who bring them to life. Each student will then develop their own response, based on their artistic practice: sculpture, painting, printmaking, photography, etc.
This workshop will take place during the 2026–27 academic year.
